Lamella clarifiers are frequently utilized in municipal wastewater treatment processes, especially during the tertiary treatment phase. They can either be integrated into the existing treatment process or utilized as standalone units to boost water flow in water treatment plants. To incorporate lamella clarifiers into existing plants, inclined plates or tubes can be attached to conventional or sludge blanket clarifiers before the overflow in the “clear water zone.” This can double the settling area and reduce the solids loading in the overflow.
